【About the Story】
In 1999, while walking on the right shoulder of Route 5 in Maine, Stephen King was hit by a van. His injuries—a collapsed right lung, multiple fractures of his right leg, scalp laceration and a broken hip—kept him in the hospital for nearly a month. After five surgeries in ten days and physical therapy, King resumed work on his book “On Writing” in July, less than a month after the accident.
